Angus And NDP Give Cheese To Lord’s Kitchen

Timmins-James Bay New Democrats made a donation to the Lord’s Kitchen in Timmins Thursday morning. Charlie Angus will be on hand to present the charitable group with 2 cases of Thornloe Cheese plus 2 cases of fine assorted crackers and bottled water.

Angus says the cheese was purchased for the NDP’s Northern Council Wine Tasting evening that was cancelled due to forest fires. “We made the decision to hand over all of our hotel rooms to Ministry of Natural Resources crews. We felt it was the right thing to do to help the situation.”

Riding Association President Louis Clausi says everyone was in agreement to give the cheese over to the Lord’s Kitchen. “These people provide meals every week to
those in need and we felt it was the perfect situation for our stock. We hope
the residents will enjoy the different variety of cheese from Thornloe.”

Angus says the Lord’s Kitchen is one of those unsung heroes. “We all know what these volunteers do but sometimes we don’t fully appreciate the service they provide. People are in need and it is easy to talk about it, but these volunteers
actually do something about it to help. We thank them
