ANGUS CONTINUES CALL FOR ACCOUNTABILITY: How did the Member from Muskoka Get Away With It?
June 20th, 2011 - 7:41pm
Today in Question Period, Charlie Angus continued questioning the Conservatives over the misuse of government funds under the guise of the G20 and G8 summits. Angus says Canadians deserve to know how $50-million dollars was spent on projects that had nothing to do with the summits.
“The Government has had to rewrite the ethics guidelines for ministers. How else can they explain the member from Muskoka passing himself off as the Daddy War Bucks for cottage country?’”
The NDP’s Ethics Critic says it has been two weeks since the Auditor General's scathing report and Tony Clement has not answered one of my questions in the House.
"This Minister blew $50-million dollars into bike racks, out-houses and picnic tables without documentation. How did he get away with this?”
Angus says the Conservatives need to come clean with taxpayers.
