Angus Part Of Government Delegation To Rome

Charlie Angus will be heading to Rome as part of the official government delegation for the investiture ofToronto’s new cardinal Tom Collins. Angus and fellow New Democrat Andrew Cash (Davenport) will be part of the parliamentary delegation to theVatican. In 2005, Angus represented the Canadian government at the investiture of Pope Benedict XVI.
Angus says it is a real honour to be asked to represent the Canadian government.
“I know that people across Timmins-James Bay will be wishing their best for the work of the new Cardinal. I will be proud to represent the communities of our region at this important event.”
Angus is a former school Board trustee for the Northeast Catholic School Board. When he was younger he worked with the homeless inToronto as a founding member of the Toronto Catholic Worker Movement.
