ANGUS WINS LEADERSHIP AWARD FROM EDUCATORS

Charlie Angus has been awarded the 2016 Leadership Award by the Ontario History and Social Science Teachers Association (OHASSTA). Angus was recognized for his work on education and social change for First Nation students and his award-winning new publication Children of the Broken Treaty (University of Regina Press).
Angus received the award while giving the keynote address to history and social science teachers from across Ontario.
"I am honoured to receive this award. I am passionate about education and ensuring that no child in Canada is left behind. This is why I fight so hard for ensuring there are fair opportunities to First Nation youth."
Angus is the MP for Timmins-James Bay and has published seven books on history and northern identity. He is working on his eighth book now with his daughter Siobhan. The book will re-examine the opening of the Northern Ontario frontier
