Dewer First Leadership Hopeful To Visit Riding

November 9th, 2011 - 12:37am

Federal NDP Leadership candidate Paul Dewer will be in Timmins and Iroquois Falls this weekend. The 48-year old Ottawa-Centre MP will take part in Remembrance Day ceremonies, and also meet with residents.

Charlie Angus calls Dewer an up and comer within the party. “Paul has established himself as a terrific member of parliament and has served very well in his various critic portfolios.”

Angus is pleased Dewer selected Timmins-James Bay as part of his tour. “I welcome all candidates to come to our riding and speak with northerners. Jack Layton was a friend of the riding, visiting many times, and I want to keep that connection with whoever is chosen leader in March.”

ITINERARY:

  • 11 am Friday  Remembrance Day ceremony in Timmins

  • 4 pm Friday meet and greet at the Anson Diner, Main Street in Iroquois Falls. Everyone welcome

Dewar has been crossing the country as part of his leadership bid and is quickly emerging as one of the key leadership candidates to watch.
