2011 09 22 - Press Releases

Today NDP Ethics Critic Charlie Angus (Timmins—James Bay) is releasing emails between Tony Clement, the Mayor ofHuntsvilleand Vern Freedlander a freelance communications consultant.

On August 10, 2008 Clement sent an email from his Ministerial HealthCanadaaccount to Freedlander which discussed the G8 and said "Would you like to be retained by the Town?"

After expressing interest, Freedlander’s email is sent to the Mayor who replies “I am emailing Vern now.”

Clement sums it up with “Good stuff!”

"One set of rules we have to live by, and a different set of rules for Conservatives," said Angus. "Looks like the era of jobs for friends is still alive and strong with these Conservatives."
