Charlie's Posts

The fall Parliamentary session has begun with serious questions being raised about whether or not Tony Clement played a role in keeping the Auditor General in the dark about key G8 spending in Muskoka. Earlier this summer, New Democrats released documents that revealed an elaborate process for funneling money into Clement’s riding under the pretext of supporting G8 infrastructure funding. The documents clearly contradict information that had been provided to the Auditor General.

Angus says Clement has an obligation to explain the discrepancies.

It has only been a few short weeks since the tragic death of Jack Layton.  Jack wasn’t just the leader of our party he was like a member of our family. And as we grieve, we find ourselves thrust into the media glare of a leadership race. It is a race that will have profound consequences forCanada’s political landscape. The next leader will need the vision and political “chops” to carry out Jack’s mission to form a social democratic government in the next election.

Documents released through Wiki Leaks are painting an alarming picture of Conservative collusion with U.S interests to force throughU.S.style copyright legislation.

New Democrat Digital Affairs Critic Charlie Angus (Timmins—James Bay) says the leaks raise serious questions about the role played by former Industry Ministers Maxime Bernier and Tony Clement.

Due to the tremendous outpouring of sympathy following the death of Federal NDP Leader Jack Layton, MP Charlie Angus will be keeping a book of condolences in the riding a bit longer. Angus says it has been heartwarming.

Charlie Angus would like to thank the people of Timmins-JamesBay for the incredible outpouring of emotion following the death of New Democrat Leader Jack Layton. Angus and staff will have a book of condolences for people in the region to sign. Area residents can come by either the Timmins or Kirkland Lake constituency office to sign the book.
