In commemoration of the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty’s accession to the throne, Charlie Angus M.P. for Timmins-James Bay will be presenting 30 medals. This medal will be awarded to a citizen who has made a significant contribution either to the region or community within the riding. This is a time to celebrate the unsung heroes who serve our community everyday.

Eligibility criteria.
To be eligible for this honour, a person must: • Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada and reside in Timmins-James Bay; • Have made a significant contribution to the region or community within the riding. • Be alive in 2012, the 60th anniversary year of Her Majesty’s accession to the Throne. The medal can be awarded posthumously, as long as the recipient was alive on the date of the nomination.

Members of Parliament have been invited to nominate candidates from their community for this national honour. Members of the general public are welcome to contact their Member of Parliament or committee members to suggest or recommend names of unsung heroes who serve our community everyday.
