TIMMINS-JAMES BAY CONTINUES TO SCORE BIG ON CANADA SUMMER JOBS
May 3rd, 2016 - 2:21pm
Timmins-James Bay is getting 600-thousand dollars to help hire summer students this year. Charlie Angus says we will be able to create over 200 jobs.
“We continue to do very well in this riding. The increase in funding will mean more students getting much needed experience.”
Angus says the increase in funds will also allow for more agencies to benefit this year.
“This has been a tremendous program for groups and organizations in our region. Since many cannot afford to add extra staff, the summer jobs program has been a great tool in helping them expand or offer increased service.”
Last year Timmins James Bay got $309-thousand dollars and created 130 jobs.
All those approved for the program will soon be contacted by phone or mail with further instructions.
